Admiral Congregational UCC invites all who are interested into an important conversation on anti-racism. Pastor Andrew Conley-Holcom is offering an interactive, year-long book study for 2021 using the book, Uprooting Racism: How White People Can Work for Racial Justice by Paul Kivel, as the guide. All are welcome.
Two groups are offered for individuals with a focus on personal experiences of white identity and developing personal responses to privilege and white supremacy. These will meet once a month on either the 3rd Mondays 8-9pm beginning Jan. 18 OR 4th Mondays 3-4pm. beginning Jan 25.
For those who would like to go deeper to talk about organizational issues, a second gathering, co-led by Admiral Church and Westside Unitarian, will be offered quarterly on Monday evenings 7-8:30pm 3/22, 6/28, 9/27, 12/27. These gatherings will focus on systemic influence of white supremacy and encourage personalized responses to privilege in our churches or other organizations.
