The Second Monday Racial Justice Film Series is an ongoing event sponsored by Admiral Church and West Seattle Meaningful Movies. As their November feature, they proudly present An Ordinary Hero: The True Story of Joan Trumpauer Mulholland. You may watch the film at your leisure on admiralchurch.org. Then join us for a Zoom conversation about the film on Monday, November 9th at 8:00pm. We will also provide an opportunity a week later to talk to the film maker, Loki Mulholland, Joan’s son, on Monday, November 16th at 8:00pm. We hope you will join us.
This will be an unparalleled opportunity to learn about Joan Trumpauer Mulholland a southern white woman and American civil rights activist from Arlington, Virginia who risked her relationship with her wealthy family, her education at Duke University and placed her life in jeopardy in order to help create the change she wanted to see in the United States. In addition to watching and discussing the film, we will have the unique opportunity to meet with Loki Mulholland, Joan’s son, to find out more about the making of the film and more about Joan through his eyes. We’re very excited to be able to offer this program to learn about an unsung American hero who stood up for what she believed to be right.
Join us in continuing to learn about those who have stood up for racial justice and putting their Christian values into action.
