"One Great Hour of Sharing" Offering March 27

Every once in a while, you'll find what we call "special offering" envelopes in the pews (or a special offering line available on our online giving page). In addition to regular financial support Fauntleroy Church sends on to our wider United Church of Christ at the Conference and national level, four times a year we also help promote these UCC "special offerings" that go to designated efforts. "One Great Hour of Sharing" is the special offering usually collected in March, and we are thankful for the opportunity this year to make a strong in-person and online appeal in supporting this offering opportunity.

What is "One Great Hour of Sharing?" OGHS helps the United Church of Christ to meet the challenge of disaster relief and long-term aid for those communities touched by natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods and fires as well as the impact of human-caused tragedies like refugees fleeing war or persecution.

The theme for the 2022 United Church of Christ’s One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering is “Love Remains”. It is based on the scripture from 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NRSV) “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

The "One Great Hour of Sharing" offering has taken a tremendous hit across the UCC during the past two years of the pandemic. We hope you'll consider how you might be able to give generously toward efforts of love overcoming all.
