Cathy Phillips and Joan Gregory with our Homelessness Task Force are staying in close touch with the camp manager to identify ways we might support the residents. The census is holding at about 55 men and women, residents now have dedicated case management, and the camp may expand by 2-4 tiny homes. Here are current opportunities to be supportive:
Residents are in urgent need of fitted twin sheets, bath towels, and pillowcases.
The games, hygiene items, snacks, and craft supplies donated during our ice-cream social have been a big hit and more are most welcome. Check the LIST below.
Look for C2C donation bins in the narthex on Sunday mornings or in the church/Y lobby Aug. 16-27 (Mon.-Thurs. 9:30-5:30; Fri. 9:30-3:00).
The camp has been closed to visitors during the pandemic but may re-open in late August. If you’d like to help pull off a celebratory lunch/open house, call Joan at 206-962-0583 or the church office.
