Upon the recommendation of the Regathering Task Force, the Church Council has voted to prep toward July 11 as the date we will return to worshiping again in the church sanctuary. With vaccinations now available to everyone ages 16 and over, more now known about how to prevent spread of the COVID-19 virus, and the careful planning of staff and volunteers across the life of the church, we are elated to be able to set this date on the calendar and begin the work toward making it happen.
In preparation for regathering in the sanctuary, a detailed technology plan is being implemented to simultaneously offer in-person and online worship. A big thank you to Ben Ackers, our worship tech volunteer, Bruce Gryniewski, our Vice-Moderator and Regathering Task Force Chair, members of our Facilities and Finance Ministries as well as the Church Council for their work. Thanks also goes to a few members who have given toward the effort, including Kitty Clark, who seeded the effort with a significant gift just before passing away unexpectedly this past fall.
Our Worship, Parish Life, Christian Education Ministries as well as the Regathering Taskforce and church staff are engaged in ongoing discussion around the shape and possibilities of worship, other events and how best to keep our unvaccinated children and adults safe.
