As COVID case numbers greatly improve, our Church Council has voted to return to some of our early Advent COVID protocols beginning this Thursday, March 3. These include the following:
three feet of social distance between households or "pods"
checkerboard seating in the sanctuary (with the option to fill every row in a staggered manner as numbers increase)
unmasked worship leaders when speaking (with extra distance observed)
unmasked solo performers when singing (with extra distance observed)
congregational singing on the last hymn will return
Congregational masking will remain in place for indoor activities as we continue to follow our "Pick Two" principle where each of us always engages at least two of the following while on the church campus: masking, distancing (by 3 ft), gathering outside. While inside, we are masked and distanced. When outside and distanced, we can unmask (such as when coffee hour returns in-between our 9&11 Easter Sunday services -- mark your calendars!). When outside and masked, we can forego distancing (such as when we gather on Alki Beach for our Easter morning sunrise service at 6am -- mark your calendars for this too!). As always, thank you for helping us keep each other physically and emotionally safe. Because of your willingness to observe our careful protocols, we have seen many comfortable enough to return to in-person worship.
