Sunday Morning Hybrid Worship Service - August 1, 2021

Communion Goblet.png

THIS SUNDAY, AUG. 1st, WE'LL BE CELEBRATING COMMUNION. John 6:24-35, the scripture reading for this week is the second of several readings talking about bread. Last week was John’s version of the feeding of the five thousand, and this week with the crowds hungry for more, Jesus challenges them (and us!) to move from the meal on the hillside to the even more marvelous “bread of life.” If you are worshipping with us in person, we’ll be using individual worship elements that you’ll receive as you enter the church. If you are worshipping at home, we invite you to have some bread and juice ready at your end of Christ’s table.

Please know we practice an open table of wide and extravagant welcome at Fauntleroy Church. You do not need to be worshiping here in person and you do not need to be a member of this church to take communion. No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, Christ has set a place for you.

PRAYER REMINDER. If you’re not attending worship on this Sunday or would like to send a prayer request ahead of time, you can share those by emailing Pastor Karyn (karyn@fauntleroyucc.org) in advance of Sunday morning. You can also submit a prayer on the church website: https://www.fauntleroyucc.org/prayer-requests . The online form gives you options for how you would like your prayers to be shared. Please note that if you’d like your prayer specifically shared in worship (and not just with pastors, the prayer chain team or those receiving the church Highlights email), you’ll need to tell us that. Also, please be aware that prayers shared in worship are now broadcast and recorded for all to hear.
