A One Night Discussion on "The Social Dilemma" Shown on Netflix

Netflix has released a documentary-drama that's created some buzz. It's entitled, "The Social Dilemma." While there are many varying strong reviews of this documentary, it raises interesting questions about the influence of social media in creating a greater and greater divide in our country. As we move toward the presidential election, I think it important for all of us to be as self-aware as possible, and self-awareness extends to awareness around how we are being shaped and influenced by our surroundings, including the world as it is presented to us on social media. I hope you'll watch the documentary (and yes, it is dramatized, so grit your teeth for that), and then come to a one-night discussion specifically focused on the intersection of ethics in technology and the work of faith. Could progressive Christians, focused on social justice issues not be going far enough upstream in seeking to address a new important root cause behind hardened hearts and minds fighting the very change for which we work? Could we also be developing hardened hearts and minds ourselves, influenced by social media? I hope you'll join us to discuss.
