Can you believe that we are already getting our annual Children’s Christmas Pageant together? This year’s pageant is virtual (of course) and it’s called “A Pandemic Christmas.” How and what can we possibly celebrate in this upside-down, inside-out, boxed-in world we are living in? We’ll all find out on Dec. 6 when the pageant will be a gift from the children and youth to the whole congregation.
Thanks to all the kids who have let us know they want to be in on the fun. We’re putting the final touches on the script, some awesome and hilarious puppets, costumes, and music. It’s hard to describe this pageant because it is like nothing we’ve ever done before. But if you think of an Advent Calendar that has a treat behind each of its little doors, you’ll begin to catch a vision of the surprises ahead. If you haven’t had a chance to reach out, there are still lots of ways to be involved. Contact Pastor Karyn soon, and she’ll fill you in on the details!
And as we told our parents, safety is as important as fun. We’ll be filming one child (or family group) at a time with lots of space around us, masks on, and lots of space in between each family’s filming to give us time to keep Fellowship Hall healthy and clean. We have begun filming this week and will continue through the first week of November. We’ll need the time to film line by line and then to put all of the individual parts together like adding decorations on a Christmas tree!
