MARRIAGE: Overview How-To Facilities Marriage Seminars Receptions
We at Fauntleroy Church think that offering Marriage Seminars to couples before they marry is an important part of our marriage ministry, so our Marriage Seminar or another approved marriage preparation program is required of all couples being married at Fauntleroy Church.
The Marriage Seminar provides a unique opportunity for you to focus, in the midst of pre-wedding activity, on the quality of your relationship. With other couples you will consider topics which many professionals (writers, researchers, therapists, clergy and others) find most important in enduring, lively marriages. These include communications (including conflict resolution, listening, safety of expression, expressing appreciation), family of origin, values (similar and different), household management, work and money, sexuality and intimacy, faith and spirituality. It is important, in our view, to provide a safe and comfortable format and setting, for you to look at these topics. Feedback from former participants confirms the ease with which they could work (often with lots of laughter!) on their relationships. As well, many helpful handouts are distributed to participants for future reference.
Our
Marriage Seminars are offered four times each year, on Saturday, from 9am to 4pm PT.
The fee for participation in a Marriage Seminar is included in your basic wedding service fees.
Leadership for the Marriage Seminars is provided by married couples (members of Fauntleroy Church) working with David Morris as Seminar Leader. David Morris, a life and relationship coach, will lead your seminar. Dave has extensive experience in small group leadership and development.
