MARRIAGE: Overview   How-To   Facilities   Marriage  Seminars  Receptions

If you are engaged to be married or to live in a lifetime covenant relationship and are considering having your wedding or covenant service at Fauntleroy Church, we'd like to congratulate and welcome you!

We’re glad to join with your family and friends to wish you all the best as you share in this wonderful lifelong relationship. Your wedding or covenant service is a significant event in your lives, so you’ll want it to be both joyous and sacred, reflecting your love and God’s, encompassing your hopes, dreams and plans for the future. We welcome the opportunity to work with you in the arrangements of your service and in the preparations for your life together.

Because we understand a marriage/covenant to be the commitment of two persons to live with love for each other into a long and unknown future, we believe your service should reflect reverence and dignity as well as joy! Therefore, we offer you a variety of resources as you prepare – from experienced wisdom about wedding or covenant service details to a time of reflection in the Marriage Seminar or in pre-service counseling…and much more.

We’d like you to know and to respect the following significant information about our church and our beliefs:

1. We understand marriage and a commitment of two persons to live in covenant forever is a profound response to the gift of God’s love in your lives. For this reason, we believe thoughtful preparation is essential, so we require every couple to participate in our Marriage Seminar or to engage in pre-service counseling with another counseling agency.

2. We understand that God’s love includes all persons, regardless of race, gender, ethnic origin or sexual orientation, and that we are to live in response to that love. We ask that you respect this Open and Affirming statement, adopted by vote by all members of this church.

3. We understand that a wedding or covenant service is a sacred and joyful event, so we require that you follow the guidelines for music and photography carefully. Your officiating minister will work with you to design a service which is both reverent and reflective of your personal story, commitment and community gathered as well as an understanding of God’s gift of love in your lives.

We hope we've provided you with all the information you need to plan your wedding or covenant service at Fauntleroy Church. Just use the Marriage menu options above or the following links for How-To, Facilities, Marriage Seminars, and Receptions information. And if we've left anything out or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us.
