MUSIC
The Fauntleroy Church organist/pianist plays for all services unless other
arrangements regarding other types of music are made. Please contact the
organist at (206) 932-5600 at least 6 weeks prior to the wedding/covenant
service to make arrangements. No one will be permitted to use the church
organ without making prior arrangements with our organist. A grand piano is
available. All music must be live. Taped music does not sound well in the
context of the wedding/covenant service, and is much more appropriate for
the reception. We are happy to recommend instrumentalists and soloists for
the ceremony.
REHEARSAL
Normally the rehearsal is the Thursday night before the wedding/covenant
service. It’s possible to do it on Wednesday. If we do not have a
wedding/covenant service on Friday, a Friday rehearsal is also possible. The
rehearsal takes one hour, although on some occasions it may go a little
longer. It is not necessary for the soloist or organist to be present. To
make arrangements for rehearsal date and time, or for additional
information, call Terry Clements at (206) 932-5600. An additional fee of
$50.00/hr. will be charged if the rehearsal goes beyond one hour.
DECORATIONS:
Flowers, candles, and an aisle runner (50 or 75 feet) if so desired, shall
be furnished by the wedding/covenant service party. Candelabras and aisle
candelabras, not candles, are available for rental from the church, or you
may choose to have your florist provide them. Thumbtacks or articles that
would mar the building or the furnishings may not be used. All decorations
and/or flowers and flower petals must be removed from church premises by
wedding/covenant service party. NO TAPE IS TO BE USED. Clips for bows on
the pews are available for your use.
There are two
times during the year when some decorations will be in the sanctuary which
may not be removed for a wedding/covenant service. The first time is in the
month of December (usually the decorations are put up on the first Sunday in
December through the first Sunday in January of the new year). The second is
during the Lenten season, up through Easter Sunday. This is in the spring,
and varies from year to year. It is wise to check decoration details with
the Wedding/Covenant Service Coordinator to avoid buying items which will
not be allowed in the church sanctuary.
PHOTOGRAPHS:
Please convey the following information to the person(s) taking pictures of
your wedding/covenant service.
No photographs with flash will be taken during
the service. Flash photos are allowed only during the processional and
recessional. The major photos must be posed prior to the wedding/covenant
service unless negotiated with Wedding/Covenant Service Coordinator. There
will be an additional charge for this change. All photographic equipment
will be kept out of the narthex (lobby) and removed from the sanctuary at
least a half hour before the wedding/covenant service. Any
photographs taken during the service shall be taken from the back of the
church only, with the exception of the video cameras. You need to consult
with the Wedding/Covenant Service Coordinator on the use of video equipment.
CARE OF THE
BUILDING:
It is expected that all the facilities of the church, both inside and
outside the building, will be given careful use and respect. No confetti,
rice, bird seed or any other such substance will be thrown inside or outside
the church building. Moving sanctuary furniture/musical instruments, or
unplugging of same, is not permitted.
ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES
No
alcoholic beverages of any kind will be used in the church building or on
the grounds before, during, or after the wedding/covenant service or
reception.
RECEPTIONS
Please see the
Receptions page.
HOLD HARMLESS
CLAUSE
Neither the Church nor its Staff is responsible for loss or damage to any
and all property of bridal/covenant service party and guests while on church
premises.
