When invited, Caring Ministry group co-leaders coordinate church and/or
community resources to help members and their loved ones through a difficult
time.
Here are some examples of services or assistance
that Caring Ministry could and does provide:
- Transportation to medical appointments,
therapy sessions, or procedures; also, rides to a hospital or convalescent
center for visits.
- Food on a short-term basis when families
or individuals are in need or in stressful situations
- Cards and notes of cheer, encouragement,
and sympathy
- Calls and visits when there are concerns
about persons home bound or alone
- Scripture and other meditation resources;
prayer during illness, surgery, or loss
- Crisis financial support, including
credit counseling
- Support groups for persons who have
experienced similar events, such as miscarriage or the death of a partner
- One-time "stabilizing" work
parties, indoors or out
- Assistance researching and evaluating
housing or care options
