The Crock Pots, a group of 30 "somethings," give or take a decade, that typically meets the fourth Saturday of each month at the church or in private homes for a potluck meal. Singles and couples are welcome. Childcare is provided, however since many of our children are under the age of five, they are a big part of our gatherings. With children present, deep conversations are difficult to have. We tend to spend our time learning more about each other, building friendships, providing support to each other, and laughing. Our conversations have included various topics, such as family traditions, comedians, TV shows, movies, home improvement projects, the economy, and food. On occasion, we have planned for some adult-only time and have gone to a local restaurant instead of potlucking.
We self-manage our group by using Evite, an online invitation tool. An invitation e-mail is sent to the group and then responses are logged online. Everyone who receives an invitation can see who plans on attending, what categories of food each family/person plans on bringing, and whether or not childcare will be needed.
Please contact Jackie Gould at the church if you would like to receive information about this fellowship group or add yourself or your family to the Crock Pots invite list.
